Stamp duty on commercial property
purchase is levied at 9%.
The new rates of stamp duty provide that, on the purchase of residences with a value of less than €1 million, no tax will be payable on the first €125,000 of the consideration, and the balance will be charged at 7 per cent. On houses valued in excess of €1 million, a further stamp duty will be payable on the excess of the value over €1 million at a rate of 9%. This change will have immediate effect.
